Apart from taking up cases of human rights violations with the quasi-judicial redress forums for speedy remedies like National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), State Human Rights Commissions (SHRCs) National and State Commissions for Women, National and State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights, National Commissions for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities and their state counterparts, Barak Human Rights Protection Committee (BHRPC) enters into Public Interest Litigation (PIL) concerning cases/issues of public importance.

PIL concerning deployment of teachers in non-teaching duties causing infringement of right to education of the children

The issues raised in this Public Interest Litigation pertains to frequent deployment of teachers of Government and Govt. aided schools in nonteaching duties thereby disrupting the academic schedule of these schools leading to violation of the fundamental rights of universal education to children as enshrined in the Article 14 , Article 21 A and Article 45 of the Constitution of India .
